Q: Is it acceptable to worship the Messiah? Some say that our
worship should be directed to the Father aspect of Yahweh
alone.
A:No matter what the intent of those who propagate this doctrine, it's
really just a stepping stone between Messianic acceptance and Yahshua
denial, and one of the key-contributing factors to why so many Messianic
shepherds and sheep are denying the deity of Messiah all together.
Deuteronomy 32:39a. See now that I, even I am He, and there is no Elohim beside
Me...
The Hebrew in this verse reads "ANI ANI", meaning I, I, or I even I, or I also
I, with no comma or hyphen in the Hebrew,(1) referring to the two primary
faces of Yahweh (Father and preexistent Son).(2)
[Verse 40] For I will lift up My Hand to heaven, and swear by My Right Hand (Yahshua),
and I will say, I live for ever... [43a] Rejoice, ye heavens, with Him, and LET ALL THE
MESSENGERS OF ELOHIM WORSHIP HIM; rejoice ye Gentiles, with His people, and
let all the sons of Elohim strengthen themselves in Him; for He ... shall purify His land and
His people. (LXX, Dead Sea Scrolls, and Peshitta)
Psalm 97:4 His lightnings appeared to the world; the earth saw, and trembled. [5] The
mountains melted like wax at the presence of Yahweh, at the presence of the Master of the
whole earth. [6] The heavens have declared his righteousness, and all the people have seen
his majesty. [7] Let all that worship graven images be ashamed, who boast of their idols;
WORSHIP HIM ALL YE HIS MESSENGERS. (LXX)
Hebrews 1:5. For to which of the messengers did He ever say, "You are My Son, today I have
begotten you", And again, "I shall be to Him a Father, and He shall be to Me a Son"? [6]
And when He again brings the firstborn into the world He says, "LET ALL THE
MESSENGERS OF ELOHIM WORSHIP HIM."
Philippians 2:9. "Elohim, therefore, has highly exalted Him and given Him the Name which
is above every name, [10] that at the name of Yahshua, every knee should bow, of those in
heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, [11] and every tongue should
confess that Yahshua the Messiah is Yahweh to the esteem of Elohim the Father."
(Aramaic Peshitta)
Indeed, the disciples often worshiped Yahshua, and were NEVER rebuked
concerning this.(3)
Matthew 2:11. "...(The wise men) saw the young child (Yahshua) with Miriam His mother,
and fell down, and worshiped Him ..."
Matthew 14:33 "Then they that were in the ship came and worshiped Him, saying, 'It is true
You are the Son of Elohim.'"
Matthew 28:9. "And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Yahshua met them, saying,
'All hail.' And they came and held Him by the feet, and worshiped Him."
Luke 24:52. "And it came to pass, while He blessed them, He was parted from them, and
carried up into heaven, and they worshiped Him, and returned to Jerusalem with great
joy..."
Matthew 28:16. "And the eleven taught ones went away into Galilee, to the mountain which
Yahshua had appointed them. [17] And when they saw Him, they worshiped Him: but
some doubted. [18] And Yahshua came up and spoke to them, saying, 'All authority has
been given to Me in heaven and on earth'"
Here I might make mention that such a statement is blasphemy UNLESS
Yahshua is Yahweh. Why? Because Yahweh said, "Place no mighty ones before me",
and if Yahweh now gave Yahshua all power in heaven and earth, without Yahshua
being a part of Himself, He placed a Mighty One above Himself, disobeying His own
command. But here Messiah is both Yahweh, and HE is worshiped by the disciples.
Not only did the disciples worship Yahshua, but also those he healed from sickness and
demon possession, to whom it was supernaturally revealed that He was the son of
Elohim.
Matthew 8:2 "And, behold, there came a leper and worshiped Him ..."
Mark 5:6 "But when (the demon possessed man) saw Yahshua afar off, he ran and
worshiped Him. [7] And cried with a loud voice, and said, 'What have I to doe with thee,
Yahshua, thou Son of the Most High Elohim? I adjure thee by Elohim, that thou torment
me not.' "
John 9:35. And Yahshua...said to (the man who had been blind), "Do you believe in the Son
of Elohim?" [36] He answered, and said, "Who is He, Master, that I might believe in
Him?" [37] And Yahshua said to Him, "You have both seen Him and He who speaks with
you is He." [38] And He said, "Master, I believe" and worshiped Him.
Notwithstanding, more than just the Father and Son are the objects of obeisance.
2 Samuel 14:4. "And when the woman of Tekoah spake to the king, she fell on her face to the
ground, and did obeisance, and said, 'Help, O king.' [5] - And the king said unto her,
'What aileth thee?' And she answered, 'I am indeed a widow woman, and mine husband is
dead.'"
Doing obeisance is worship, and people (even Yahweh's people) did obeisance to other
people all the time. The word translated obeisance here is also translated 'worship' 99
other times in scripture. Even in Exodus chapter 20 in the giving of the "ten words", we
find this same original Hebrew word used.
Revelation 3:9. "Indeed I will make those of the synagogue of hashatan, who say they are
Yahudim and are not, but lie--indeed I will make them come and worship before YOUR
feet, and to know that I have loved you."
So anyone who is teaching that the Messiah should not be worshiped is actually
reducing him LOWER than the level of a man, and overlooking many other Scriptures
besides. Those who teach such blatant errors, and lead others astray in teaching
them, will surely receive the greater judgement.
